Certification ICD coding support

From January 2022, laboratories will receive further support in encrypting diagnoses. The digital helper is integrated into the practice software and is directly available to (laboratory) doctors when coding. We would like to inform you that we have been certified by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) for this ICD coding support, which will be valid for three years from January.

The background is an order from the Appointment Service and Supply Act, according to which the KBV must create binding specifications for coding and introduce them by January 1, 2022. Because the coding quality is constantly under scrutiny. The result is ICD coding support, which, however, does not introduce any new coding regulations. Rather, it helps to apply the existing, but sometimes quite complicated, regulations of the ICD-10-GM even better and to find the most suitable code.

For our customers, the certification means additional security that the ICD-10 codes are correctly transferred in the intended manner when submitting the quarterly to your KV and that unnecessary deletions can be avoided.

Archiving and exchange interface (AWS)

An archiving and exchange interface (AWS) of the practice management systems (PSV) has been mandatory since the beginning of June 2021. The KBV has defined an interface for archiving and changing the practice management system and published it on June 6, 2019 in the vesta interoperability directory.

Medat has implemented the required AWS in all systems, the correct implementation has been confirmed by the KBV. The interface is based on the international, cross-sector and open HL7 FHIR standard.

This interface makes it easier for practices to change the practice administration system. In addition, practices can archive patient data independently of their practice management system.
